Experience the romance of a timeless European garden wedding in the heart of Vancouver.

As a premier destination wedding planner, I designed this garden wedding editorial wedding to blend lush, garden-inspired floral with old-world European elegance.

As someone with deep appreciation for European architecture and romantic settings, I wanted to create an editorial that reflected this beauty. Vancouver, being a relatively new city, is devoid of the old world European charm that I love. However, I took that as a challenge, and incorporated Vancouver’s natural beauty with classical and romantic elements taken from the old world style to showcase a fresh approach to the classic, creating The New Classic into this European garden wedding.

This inspirational shoot was taken at the Silver Ridge Estate a venue that boasts classical elements such as a sprawling property, long driveway, and a large porte cochère. To tie into this theme, classical elements were incorporated into all aspects of the shoot.  From the stationery (in the form of handmade paper, letterpress printing, handwritten love letters and wax seals), to the use of a vintage vehicle, to the finer details of the reception (using two-toned silver & pearlized flatware, crystal stemware, and a harp-violin duo).

To balance out the fresh and modern with the timeless classics, the dresses used were intentional: the classic A-line ceremony dress and the reception dress with the bold floral print; the bride’s apparently-conservative bodysuit paired with the flowing see-through dressing gown.

The stunning floral installation around the fireplace created a luxurious and classic setting for the ceremony.  Unique to this shoot was the use of the garden’s stone table as the cake table enveloped by a large floral piece cascading down towards the grass, creating a beautiful focal point. All the small details along with a grand statement piece really elevated this European garden wedding editorial to a luxury wedding experience.
