Daphne and Darren Wedding
A Sweet Garden Gathering
Cecil Green Park House, UBC
Over 16 months of working with Daphne and Darren, 3 words stand out as what best describes them: thoughtful, low-key, and elegant.
If I were to sum up what made this wedding special, it's the thoughtfulness that they put into every decision. They never failed to consider the experience of everyone involved - vendors included. From choosing a venue with multiple rain plans, (because we all know - Vancouver weather), to opting for a more simple font on their invitation address labels so as to make sorting and mailing easier for the postal service, to using solely unscented florals so as to not trigger anyone's allergies. They pulled back on extravagance in order to make the day comfortable for everyone, but still managed to keep everything looking elegant, elevated, and most importantly, meaningful - choosing to always circle back to the purpose of the gathering.
Daphne and Darren graduated a year apart from the same dental school (The University of British Columbia, UBC). They met on campus at a faculty function and spent many hours studying and getting to know each other there. It was a no-brainer that they chose to have and host their wedding on campus.
During our site visit to Cecil Green Park House, Daphne instantly fell in love with the venue’s garden. And so began the evolution of incorporating a garden theme into their wedding design. Every detail captured in their wedding gallery below was intentional both in purpose and in style, making sure that it was a reflection of the couple’s eye for beauty and thoughtfulness.
